Her practice centers on connection, safety and the therapeutic relationship, supporting people to explore feelings, identity, relationships and life experiences through art-making and reflection. She has experience working with individuals and groups across community, education, healthcare, and outreach settings. Joey is interested in how creativity can offer a gentle way to connect with ourselves and others, especially when experiences are difficult to put into words. Leonor RodriguezLecturer in Psychological Research MethodsLeonor has a background in Clinical and Health Psychology. Originally from Costa Rica, she worked as a clinical psychologist focused on children and families experiencing chronic illness. In 2011 she moved to Ireland to complete her PhD in Child and Youth Research. Her research focused on the experiences of adjustment of adolescents to parental cancer. Leonor worked for over 10 years as a mixed methods researcher in different fields focused on child and young people’s mental health, empathy development, family support, educational attainment and wellbeing. Leonor has a special interest in research methods and ethics, particularly focused on children and young people. She completed a Higher Diploma in Data Analytics and Visualisation in 2021. She became a Lecturer in Psychological Research Methods in 2024. Leonor’s research is focused on terminal and non-terminal cancer as well as young people’s experiences of death, loss and bereavement. Śukrī DeviIshaya monk, Founder of Meditation Changes LivesŚukrī Devi has been an Ishaya monk since 2015 and is the founder of Meditation Changes Lives. She has taught meditation across the UK and Europe, working with the NHS, the Royal Academy of Music, Goldsmiths University, and the Musicians' Union, where she runs weekly sessions. She recently relocated to Edinburgh after eighteen years as a professional violinist in London. Seema HingoranyClinical Psychologist, EMDR therapist, and trauma specialistSeema Hingorany is a Clinical Psychologist, EMDR therapist, and trauma specialist based in Mumbai, India, with a focus on personality and dissociative disorders. She has presented research internationally across Asia and beyond, contributed to a volume edited by Francine Shapiro, the founder of EMDR, and was acknowledged by Shapiro for her contributions to the field. Her clinical work spans depression, trauma, attachment, and childhood adversity, including field work with child flood survivors in Kashmir. She is also the author of Beating the Blues, the first book on depression written by an Indian clinician. She is currently training under Dolores Mosquera, who you will hear from earlier in the day, in dissociation and complex trauma.
