HiSS 2026 PGR Conference

The PGR Conference is an annual internal event celebrating the breadth and impact of research within our department. This year's theme, People, Practice, and Policy: Where Health and Social Science Meet Social Change, invites reflection on how our work moves beyond theory to influence services, shape policy, and improve lived experiences.

Join us for a day of oral presentations, poster sessions, and discussions—in person or online. We are welcoming submissions from all HiSS PGR students, at any stage in their research. In line with the theme, we encourage applicants to consider the potential impact of their research and discuss how their findings might be applied. However, all PGR research is eligible and you do not need to have demonstrated research impact to present. The conference will take place in person at Edinburgh Futures Institute (room 2.35) and online via Teams. Presenters may present in person, remotely, or submit a poster (digital or physical).

You can find out more about the conference on our conference website:

Call for abstracts

We are now accepting abstract submissions for oral presentations and posters.

All current PGR students in the School of Health in Social Science are eligible to submit an abstract and should do so via the abstract submission form by 20 April 2026
