Fundraising and Donations at Hope Park Hope Park Donations Hope Park Counselling Centre operates on a donation basis. We ask all clients to contribute to each weekly counselling session. Voluntary client donations are a key part of our operating budget, supporting us to develop a centre of excellence for counsellors-in-training delivering high quality, affordable counselling to the Edinburgh and Lothians community. We ask all clients to make a meaningful and affordable donation to be donated for each counselling session. The amount of this donation is agreed at the initial assessment, to ensure it is sustainable, but varying it can be discussed with their counsellor at any time. It is worth noting that your ability to pay does not affect your access to counselling. While contribution amounts are discussed during your assessment, your payment method will be agreed upon during your first counselling appointment. We encourage the use of our online donation portal, but understand it may not be suitable for everyone. If you prefer to contribute in cash, please speak to your counsellor during your first appointment. Please note that we can only accept exact cash amounts. You can make online contributions using the following link: Make a donation This online payment system is administered by the University of Edinburgh. We appreciate your contributions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Gift Aid Hope Park offers clients the opportunity to make their weekly donation through Gift Aid. Within the UK, this is a system whereby a charity (Hope Park in this case under the umbrella of the University of Edinburgh) can claim a tax refund from the UK tax office (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, HMRC) of 25p for every £1 donated. A client must be paying UK income tax in order for them to donate through Gift Aid.If you wish to donate through Gift Aid, please note that this can only be completed when making online donations.
