CAREHub Seminar: Digital use and mental health in vulnerable Children and Young People

We explore how digital use impacts the mental health of vulnerable children and young people. From TV dramas such as Adolescence to recent decisions in Government to ban devices in schools, the message we get is that digital technologies are bad for children and young people. But, what does the research tell us? Is all use bad? What about children and young people already impacted by trauma and who may be care-experienced? What are the opportunities and challenges, and how do we protect without policing?

In this webinar, we will cut through the noise to share what the evidence is for the effects of different types of digital use on the mental health and psychology of children and young people, and those with care experience in particular. We'll present a proposed framework for protecting vulnerable young people, and ask for your experiences, thoughts and feedback to shape our research.

This webinar will be relevant to parents and carers (foster, kinship and residential), educators, mental health practitioners, social workers and third sector children's organisations.
