Dr Hayashi is a Knowledge Exchange Fellow with ECERD, University of Edinburgh and has affiliation with the Institute of Gerontology at King’s College London Hayashi is currently a partner of the Japan Dementia Working Group. Her research focuses on the participation, social citizenship and rights of people with dementia in Japan and the UK in policy and practice – particularly dementia-friendly initiatives. Her cross-national approach strengthens and informs shared learning and global perspectives.Publications include: The Care of Older People: A Comparative Study, England and Japan (2013) together with peer-reviewed articles for Ageing & Society and Journal of Aging Studies. She has written extensively for The Guardian and Health Service Journal, and has been broadcasted on the BBC and CBC.
