Xiubin Zhang

Xiubin is from China. She completed her BA at Weifang Medical University and worked as a Registered Nurse in China for 13 years before she moved to the UK.

Xiubin worked as a Senior Carer with Barchester Healthcare LTD for 5 years in England before move into Scotland. She completed her Masters Degree in Public Health at the University of Edinburgh on September 2014 and she continued on her PhD in Nursing Studies.

Her project title is ‘A qualitative study to explore the experiences of older people living with dementia and their caregivers: a case study in Shandong, China’ and her research is to explore the life experiences of people with dementia and their caregivers, mainly focuses on the needs, opinions, expectations of people with dementia and the perspectives of their caregivers during the process of daily care.  She is particularly interested in the aspects of education, research and policy which are associated with dementia care within China.  

She has written papers entitled ‘Hypogalactia maternal care.’ Modern medicine and clinical 12. No.7. 2005. In Chinese
