Resources for Older Adult Supervisors using the CTS-R in Clinical Psychology Training The purpose of these video resources is to support Older Adults supervisors in familiarising themselves with the use of the CTS-R to give formative feedback to trainees and to consider any aspects of this that may be particular to Older Adults work. The intention of using the CTS-R is to give trainees more detailed and competence-focussed feedback about their clinical work. It is not intended to be used as a summative assessment. Video 1: A simulated therapy session with a volunteer actor which is not scripted. Whilst broad guidelines were provided, neither therapist not actor knew each other or what they were going to say. The therapist is an Older Adults clinical psychologist who is role-playing a trainee so please remember that this is not their customary level of competence. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the CTS-R manual prior to watching the video and print out a copy of the CTS-R to note down your thoughts as you watch the video. Scenario: It is the fourth session and the intention for the session is to review an agreed homework task (the client helping his grandson to fix his bicycle) and to introduce cognitive work. You can access the session video here: https://vimeo.com/289440978 . Please contact Adam Conlin (clinical.tutor.admin@ed.ac.uk) for the password to access the video. It is worth taking some time to formulate your own ideas about feedback prior to watching the second video. Video 2: A video of two experienced clinical psychologists discussing how they would use the CTS-R to give feedback to the trainee. You can access the feedback discussion video here: https://vimeo.com/289440862 using the same password as for the first video. If you have any questions about the use of the CTS-R with trainees, please contact the Clinical Tutor Team or your Local Tutor. If you have any comments or feedback about these video resources, please contact Neil Millar.
